DATE: July 6, 2006 SUBJECT: USIS Investigative Services wins $260 million Office of Personnel Management contract FALLS CHURCH, Va., July 6, 2006 - USIS, a leader in pre-employment screening, drug testing, and insurance services, and the largest provider of security investigations to the U.S. government, has won a contract from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to provide support services for federal government background investigations. The contract has two base years and three option years for a total potential value of more than $260 million. Under terms of the contract with OPM, USIS's Investigative Services business will perform various support services including case file maintenance and pre-review of case files; case file preparation and screening; data entry; file preparation; sorting, mailroom, and telephone/reception services; microfilm and imaging; and other services related to the search, retrieval, and support of federal background investigations. The contract will be managed by USIS's Investigative Services business, which is currently providing services to OPM in this area under a previous five-year contract, and approximately 1,200 USIS employees will perform work in support of the contract. USIS Investigative Services is working on a transition plan with OPM and will begin providing services under the new contract in early July.
