Feds Push Flier Background Checks

Rising fuel costs prompting airlines to make changes

Amid rising fuel costs, major U.S. air carriers have been forced to implement changes to accommodate the higher price of fuel. Delta, already in financial trouble, announced that it will begin cutting its pilots’ wages and benefits to offset financial losses brought on, in large part, by the high cost of fuel.

Airlines are also turning to technology to trim operational costs. Major airlines continue to push consumers to their web sites to purchase tickets in an effort to eliminate labor costs. Airlines such as Southwest have been able to close call centers and eliminate the need for additional personnel to handle incoming customer phone calls. read more


Employee Spotlight: Holley Townes-Newell, Integrations Manager

USIS likes to hire employees who stick around. Holley Townes-Newell is a prime example of one such team member. Twelve years ago, Townes-Newell began her career at USIS in Data Entry and Customer Service. Over the years, Townes-Newell has found new roles in the company and currently assists clients as Integrations Manager – her position for the last three years.

As the Integrations Manager, she works with customers to integrate their systems, such as HRIS systems, with the USIS ordering platform so clients can better manage their information. Her role lends her skills as one of USIS’ important liaisons with our customers. read more
