SUBJECT: USIS Effort Supports Katrina/Rita Victims

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, USIS undertook an unprecedented campaign to donate company and employee monies to USIS employees affected by the ravages of this massive storm. Between a large company donation, employee contributions and company matching funds to employee contributions, over $250,000 has been collected to assist the 40 USIS employees who suffered losses from this hurricane.

This past week, Hurricane Rita hit the Texas and Louisiana coast, inflicting more damage to other USIS employees. All the affected USIS employees have been accounted for and are safe, although up to 20 have been displaced temporarily. USIS will obtain information on the needs of these employees and make a determination as to what, if anything may be necessary to help those employees who require emergency assistance.
