DATE: September 7, 2005 SUBJECT: USIS to Aid Employee Victims of Hurricane Katrina USIS CEO, Randy Dobbs, announced that US Investigations Services will undertake an unprecedented effort to provide aid to the more than 70 USIS employees in the Gulf Coast area affected by Hurricane Katrina. "Hurricane Katrina likely will become the most expensive natural disaster in the history of our country" Dobbs said in a special communique to all employees. "It is a unique situation, and we believe it requires unique action on the part of USIS." A special account, The USIS Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund, has been set up so that USIS employees can contribute money to be distributed to those USIS employees whose lives have been disrupted by the devastation of the Hurricane. The USIS Employee Emergency Assistance Plan Committee will oversee the distribution of the funds to assure affected employees can receive funds to help them begin the process of putting their lives back together. USIS has pledged $50,000 as an initial contribution to permit expeditious distribution of some funds to those employees who need immediate help. "Our primary concern is to get help quickly to those in need most", Dobbs said. In addition, the company will match employee contributions, up to an additional $100,000. |
