USIS' DAC Services has provided revolutionary solutions to trucking industry for 25 years

TULSA, Okla., Oct. 29, 2006 - USIS, a leader in employment screening, drug testing, and insurance services, and the largest provider of security investigations to the U.S. government, announces the twenty-fifth anniversary of its flagship transportation business, DAC Services.

DAC Services has provided innovative screening solutions to the transportation industry since 1981. During this time, DAC has evolved from a business that began by supplying motor carriers with motor vehicle reports (MVRs) as a sole means by which to screen drivers, to the industry's premier source for comprehensive driver information and screening services.

The products and services DAC has developed over the past 25 years represent the company's ongoing commitment to promoting safe and responsible transportation management. In 1986, DAC revolutionized the driver screening process by launching its Employment History File, a proprietary driver information repository which allows motor carriers to exchange employee work history information. Today, the database contains over 5.9 million records from more than 2,500 motor carriers, and remains a unique product in the transportation industry.

Other highlights in the DAC Services history include:

• 1988 - To help employers comply with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Act of 1986, DAC Services developed the multiple license pointer file.
• 1989 - STA (State Trucking Associations) United formed to provide drug and alcohol testing to meet the new Department of Transportation regulations.
• 1994 - DAC Services provided exclusive access to the Commercial Driver's License Information System (CDLIS).
• 2000 - DAC Services and STA United merged, offering the trucking industry a single source for complete compliance and screening services.
• 2002 - DAC Services opened its District of Columbia office to better leverage influence on legislative regulatory decisions impacting the transportation industry. Also in 2002, USIS, a company with more than 50 years of background screening experience, purchased DAC Services.
• 2006 - USIS launches the new brand identity for DAC as "The Driving Force Behind USIS."
