USIS Special Investigations Unit screens police and first responder candidates reducing risk and answering critical questions

FALLS CHURCH, Va., June 18, 2007 – Police departments and other law enforcement agencies across the U.S. need the very best pre-employment screening processes to ensure every candidate’s identity and past record is thoroughly investigated. Through USIS’ Special Investigations Unit (SIU) – which is part of USIS’ Investigative Services Division (ISD) that has the largest team of field investigators in North America – law enforcement agencies can outsource their background investigation process to reduce budget costs and keep their officers on the street to serve and protect. The Law Enforcement Background Investigation product offered by SIU consists of a variety of investigations, ranging from a Limited Background Investigation (LBI) to a full “federal government-type” security investigation.
