USIS Commercial Services focusing on external growth opportunities

FALLS CHURCH, Va., October 1, 2007 – USIS, a leader in employment screening, drug testing, and services provided to major insurance companies, is working to grow its commercial services business through acquisitions. The goal of the effort is to build upon USIS’ presence in the commercial pre-employment screening and drug testing markets, which is run by the company’s Commercial Services Division (CSD) headquartered in Tulsa, Ok.

The effort will be led by Tim Dowd, president of CSD, who will turn over his Tulsa-based responsibilities to John Moore, USIS’ vice president of operations. Dowd will work closely with Phil Sweeney, senior vice president of corporate development.

“We are researching opportunities in our markets and developing a road map to accelerate our strategic growth plans through outside acquisitions and opportunities,” said Dowd. “We strongly believe we can grow CSD and our commercial services offerings through acquisitions that add to our existing market strengths or create new service or product offerings.”

USIS’ commercial services business assists more than 33,000 customers across the U.S. in the transportation, retail, healthcare, insurance, gaming, manufacturing and financial services industries.
