USIS' national security business adds a DoD business development expert
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Nov. 13, 2007 – USIS National Security Division (NSD),
which is a global supplier of all aspects of security solutions for mission critical
needs, has hired George “Skip” Flanagan to its business development
team.
As business development director, Flanagan will report to Mark Skinner, vice president
of business development, and will work out of the USIS Falls Church, Va. headquarters.
He will handle business development opportunities related to the Department of Defense
(DoD) including the Special Operations community. He comes to NSD with 16 years
of Corporate Security Operations and Training experience in a wide variety of leadership
and management positions.
Most recently, Flanagan was an independent consultant working with many U.S. government
agencies and DoD. He also has provided his expert counsel to senior management and
heads of security for a number of Fortune 500 Companies. Flanagan held
senior positions with companies such as Vance International and Alutiiq.
“Skip brings an expertise and specialized knowledge to the team because of
his experience in planning operations in support of classified national objectives,”
said Skinner. “His work in the past included developing crisis response plans
and procedures and he supervised the security operations for high level political
and military officials traveling in the U.S. and abroad.”
Flanagan retired from the U.S. Army as a sergeant major (CSM designee) after serving
more than 23 years in leadership positions of increasing responsibility in Special
Forces and Special Operations Units including 11 years with the first Special Forces
Operational Detachment Delta (Delta Force).
