Three join USIS to service new and existing government contracts
FALLS CHURCH, Va. July 9, 2008 – US Investigations Services, Inc. (USIS), the largest supplier of security investigations to the U.S. government and a major provider of national security support services and training, has hired three leaders that will be assigned to its Falls Church, Va., office to help its National Security Division (NSD) move ahead in critical areas of security management.
- Lanny Bernier is becoming vice president of the Defense Training Group (DTG) and will report to NSD President Michael Fraser. Bernier has extensive experience in security and law enforcement training in both the federal government and the private sector, and has leadership expertise both overseas and in the U.S. He will focus on capturing new business opportunities in the growing international and U.S. training markets.
- Reporting to Bernier in the DTG will be Joanne Meyers, a program manager responsible for the day-to-day contracts. Prior to joining USIS, she worked for Inter-Con Security and several subsidiaries of Vance International, managing operations of specialized security and documentation teams throughout the U.S. Meyers also managed the operations of a large government security contract with the Department of State. Her most recent position was serving as the director of training for Inter-Con Security where she managed the Regional Training and Recruiting Center for all personnel assigned to various Department of State contracts.
- Jim Engelke will be the program director of the Mercury contract, which provides Security Monitors and Construction Surveillance Technicians to NSD’s U.S. government customer. He will report to Sam Kirton, vice president of the Intelligence Security Group (ISG), and will provide overall contract direction and management. Engelke has extensive experience in program management of large government contracts in the intelligence community. Prior to USIS, he worked for General Dynamics in a variety of program management roles. He also has significant experience in business operations, contract and financial management, security practices, and leadership of teams involved in complex and high security work for the United States.
