USIS keen on security clearance process reform to be discussed at ITAA
FALLS CHURCH, Va., May 1, 2008 - USIS, a leading global supplier of security solutions and services to the federal government, is a major sponsor of the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) Conference on Security Clearance Reform on May 7, 2008. USIS’ investigative services division (ISD) is the largest provider of security investigation field work and support services to the U.S. government. USIS vice president of ISD operations Doug Steele will be introducing OMB deputy director Clay Johnson, who will open the conference in Pentagon City.
The conference will feature the government’s Joint Security Clearance Reform team. The team, under the auspices of the Office of Management and Budget and coordinated by the Department of Defense, the Office of Director of National Intelligence and the Office of Personnel Management, will brief the industry on the reform plan they provided to the President April 30, and the specific steps going forward.
Doug Steele said USIS is closely watching the team’s developments. “We have professionally credentialed and highly trained field investigators throughout the country. Our investigators and field leaders are always working to develop the best processes and practices, and that includes a transformed clearance process vision that considers timeliness, cost and quality,” he said.
Panel discussions at the conference will include John Czajkowski, deputy associate director of the Office of Personnel Management , Kathy Watson, director, Defense Security Service, John Fitzpatrick of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and Beth McGrath of the Department of Defense. ITAA is a high-tech industry association working to maintain America’s role as the world’s innovation headquarters.
