USIS director engaged in association support of background screeners
FALLS CHURCH, Va. April 16, 2008 – Dan Shoemaker, director of corporate development for USIS, a worldwide provider of screening and security services to corporate and government clients, has been named the Chairman-elect for the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS). The NAPBS membership elected Shoemaker at their annual conference in New Orleans.
NAPBS is a national trade association of almost 600 member companies that promotes ethical business practices, compliance, and fosters awareness of issues related to consumer protection and privacy rights within the background screening industry. Shoemaker was the previous treasurer and has been a member of the board of directors for two years.
At USIS, Shoemaker manages corporate development activities including mergers and acquisitions, partnerships and ventures, and corporate strategic planning. He also handles government and public affairs, monitoring legislative and regulatory issues.
Prior to joining USIS, Shoemaker was the Assistant Secretary of Transportation for the Commonwealth of Virginia appointed by Governor Jim Gilmore, assisting in the oversight and administration of five state agencies within the transportation secretariat.
