USIS names new president of commercial services business

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Feb. 25, 2008 – USIS, a national leader in pre-employment screening services and the largest provider of security investigations to the U.S. government, has appointed Phillip C. McVey to the position of president of its Commercial Services Division (CSD).

CSD offers more than 33,000 customers across the U.S. in the aviation, trucking, retail, healthcare, insurance, and gaming industries comprehensive pre-employment screening services that include criminal records searches, credit reports, motor vehicle reports, employment and education verifications, drug testing, and other products.

“Phil was selected to lead our commercial services business because of his success in growing businesses and developing strategies that created customer-focused solutions for a wide range of commercial and government customers,” said Randy Dobbs, CEO of USIS. “His extensive experience in leading teams that created new opportunities in challenging markets, and in driving internal process improvements that increased business productivity and profitability, will help us move our commercial services business forward.”

From 1995 to present, McVey served in positions of increasing scope and responsibility for Tyco International, Inc. From 2006 to present, he was vice president, business operations, of ADT Security Services, Inc., a global leader in security solutions servicing over six million residential, commercial, and government customers with annual revenues of approximately $4 billion. Before serving as vice president of business operations, McVey was a regional vice president for that company (2003 to 2006), and from 2001 to 2003 he was president of Tyco Fire and Security, Latin America. Prior to his more recent positions, McVey held a series of leadership positions in operations, sales, and marketing. He served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army from 1986 to 1990.

McVey earned his Bachelor of Science degree in computational and applied mathematics from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Va., and his MBA from The New York Institute of Technology, Old Westbury, New York.
