Independent Contractor Requirements

• Minimum of a BS/BA degree from an accredited university or combination of coursework and work experience equivalent to a college degree as defined by the contract
• Minimum of 3 years of experience out of the last 5 years for conducting background investigations at the federal level
• Superior organizational and time management skills
• Advanced skills in both oral and written communication
• Strong computer and typing skills for writing narrative reports of investigations is a plus
• Compliance with business and other licensing requirements of respective local and state governing agencies
• Maintain appropriate types and levels of insurance coverage
• Ability to enter into written Independent Contractor Agreement with USIS

Contract Record Specialist (CRS)

• High school degree
• Superior organizational and time management skills
• Advanced skills in both oral and written communication
• Strong computer and typing skills for writing narrative reports of investigations
• Prior record searching experience (preferred, not required)
