Security Clearance Background Investigations

Government agency investigations are conducted in accordance with federal policy requirements by a staff of over 3,000 trained personnel.

As the largest supplier of background investigations to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), USIS maintains a nationwide network of employee field investigators. USIS field investigators are located in all 50 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and Puerto Rico.

Our investigators are responsible for evaluating the eligibility and suitability of job applicants. These services include citizenship status, education qualifications, employment history, criminal and civil court records, military experience and conducting interviews with applicants and references.

USIS offers automatic follow-up services for re-investigations and updates.

All cases are subject to a quality control and case review process for accuracy and coverage. USIS maintains the highest quality control standards in the industry. Cases are reviewed as updates are introduced, with final review for all cases prior to release.
