Frequently Asked Questions
How will opportunities be published so we know about upcoming missions?
We will continually post opportunities as they arise, so we encourage you to visit
www.usis.com/cjps frequently to check
for updates and upcoming missions.
Will I have to furnish my own equipment or will it be provided for me?
You will deploy with a standard pack of gear to include uniform items and immediate-need
items as they pertain to the mission. Weapons and additional equipment will, in
most cases, be issued upon arrival in-country.
What should I do if my contact information changes or I need to update my personal
experience profile?
Return to our webpage (www.usis.com/cjps)
and update your data. We suggest you visit the site regularly to verify your data
and to view any changes to the Program’s status. Please note that the updating of
your personal data is your responsibility if you wish to maintain consideration.
When deployed, how will I be able to communicate with family?
USIS will provide communication devices to help ensure you can stay in contact with
your family members at home. You will have access to Morale, Welfare, and Recreation
(MWR) facilities, where you will gain access to Voice Over Internet Protocol telephone
services, email service, and regular mail. In our experience, the best way to stay
in contact is through services such as Yahoo chat and Skype. Both offer webcam options.
These and other communication details will be discussed as part of your pre-deployment
briefings.
How do I stay in shape? What about food?
USIS provides MWR facilities that offer a full set of workout equipment in each
location where you will be deployed. Our food service providers also must provide
nutritious menus that are designed to offer you meals that are well-balanced, healthy,
and safe. While deployed, your life support (food, hotel, work-related travel) is
provided to you.
Who covers the cost of pre-deployment training?
USIS will cover the costs associated with pre-deployment training.
