Our nationwide network of investigators is composed of USIS-trained employees as
well as experienced contractors that form a team capable of delivering essential
information to meet the most demanding standards and critical timelines.
USIS contractors are an integral part of our information delivery system and as
such, must meet the exacting criteria necessary to exceed our customers' high standards.
USIS contractors include:
Contract Background Investigators (CBI)
A USIS CBI has a minimum of three in the last five
years of experience working with Federal agencies conducting background
investigations. Each Contract Investigator must undergo a complete background screening
to meet Federal standards. The CBI is responsible to administer an unsworn declaration
during subject interviews and take written affidavits.
Special Contractor (SCI)
A USIS SCI has specific training and experience in one or more security specialties.
The Special Contractor maintains a high level of expertise in such areas as:
- Fraud Investigations
- Electronic Countermeasures
- Psychological Testing
- International Relations
- Forensic Accounting
- Surveillance
- Electronic Security
- Polygraph Administration
- EEO and Sexual Harassment Complaints
- And other special skills
Records Specialist (RS)
A USIS Records Specialist is an essential link for our rapid background screening
services. The Records Specialist acquires vital information from public record repositories
and transmits the findings to our case-management service center. The RS is experienced
in the process practices of public record research, and follows the requirements
that govern these activities.
