USIS names Andrew Grimmig as Associate General Counsel - Corporate
FALLS CHURCH, Va., July 2, 2009 – USIS, the largest supplier of security investigations to the U.S. government, a national leader in employment screening, and a leading provider of data and information solutions to the insurance industry, has named Andrew E. Grimmig to the position of associate general counsel - corporate. He will report to David R. Fontaine, senior vice president and general counsel of USIS.
Grimmig will be responsible for providing general legal counsel for USIS and its affiliates, with an emphasis on supporting financial transactions and merger and acquisition activities. In this role, Grimmig will work on behalf of the USIS Office of the General Counsel to support the company’s growth strategy.

Prior to joining USIS, Grimmig was an associate at Latham & Watkins LLP in Washington, DC, where since May 2007 his practice focused on mergers and acquisitions and private equity. He represented public companies and private equity funds in transactions throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Grimmig joined Latham & Watkins after serving as associate—mergers and acquisitions at Jones Day, Atlanta, Ga., from August 2002 to April 2007. He was responsible for legal councel and support of clients in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and general corporate law. His clients ranged from emerging growth and privately held entities to Fortune 500 corporations with businesses throughout the United States, Europe, South America, and Asia.
Grimmig is a graduate of the Duke University School of Law in Durham, N.C., and Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla. He is admitted to the legal practice in Georgia and the District of Columbia.
